BM: Malaysia vs Etoile FC (Result & Review)

Singapore: After a blistering start, Malaysia had only managed to salvage a 1-1 draw in a very physical match versus Etoile FC. Etoile FC powered by French born lineup played with high tempo and managed to caught Malaysian defenses in several occasion. Malaysia, without their AFF Suzuki top goalscorer Safee Sali, was in a front foot with goal by a young Negeri Sembilan striker Fakri Shaarani. Fakri scored with a header in 7th minutes after he collected a cross by Asraruddin Putra following corner taken by skipper Safiq Rahim.
Shock by the goal, Etoile FC continue to press and managed to level the game in 61st minutes following a cracking shot by Hicham Bouchemial. Substitute goalkeeper Sharbinee managed to make several crucial saves including a point blank range header by Camara following a corner. Etoile FC continue to press especially during set piece situations by taking advantage of their physical attributes. However, the Harimau Malaya stood on their ground and creating several crisp pass and chances themselves only to be denied by a poor Amirul Hadi shot. The game ended with 1-1 and marked a real improvement of quality in Harimau Malaya tactical play against a quality opponent.
